El macrobús es un Sistema de Autobuses de Tránsito Rápido (Bus Rapid Transit) fue creado como parte de las soluciones del Plan Integral de Desarrollo Urbano y Movilidad para el estado de Jalisco.

La línea troncal fue inaugurada el 9 de marzo de 2009.  El corredor de 16.6 kilómetros está trazado por la Calzada Independencia – Gobernador Curiel, cruzando de norte a sur toda la Ciudad, desde el municipio de Guadalajara hasta Tlaquepaque.

El servicio opera en el corredor Calzada independencia – Av. Gobernador Curiel, cuenta con carriles confinados de uso exclusivo para las unidades articuladas de macrobús y de vehículos de emergencia.

Así mismo las 27 estaciones distribuidas en el corredor cuentan con dispositivos de seguridad que permiten su monitoreo las 24 horas al día, entre ellos se cuenta con un sistema de circuito cerrado de televisión y la presencia permanente de personal de seguridad privada.

The macrobús is a Rapid Transit Bus System (Bus Rapid Transit) that was created as part of the solutions of the Comprehensive Urban Development and Mobility Plan for the state of Jalisco.

The trunk line was inaugurated on March 9, 2009. The 16.6 kilometer corridor is traced by Calzada Independencia – Gobernador Curiel, crossing the entire city from north to south, from the municipality of Guadalajara to Tlaquepaque.

The service operates in the Calzada Independencia – Av. Gobernador Curiel corridor, with confined lanes for the exclusive use of articulated macrobus units and emergency vehicles.

Likewise, the 27 stations distributed in the corridor have security devices that allow them to be monitored 24 hours a day, including a closed circuit television system and the permanent presence of private security personnel.
